THE MAN WITH THE
GOLDEN GUN 1974
There are nearly 300 behind the scenes and production stills for The Man With The Golden Gun (1974). Of note in this section of the archive are the collection of promotional images with actors Roger Moore (14 October 1927 – 23 May 2017) and Britt Ekland at the Oliver Messel Suite of London’s Dorchester Hotel. This film is perhaps best remembered for the casting of Christopher Lee (27 May 1922 – 7 June 2015) as villain Scaramanga together with Hervé Villechaize (23 April 1943- 4 September 1993) as his henchman Nick Nack. Look for the many terrific stills of the actors promoting the film in their respective roles. The exotic locations also deserve a mention, in particular Khao Ping Kan near Phuket, Thailand, which was used as Scaramanga’s base. The archive contains some stills of deleted scenes cut from the end of the film, during the climactic shoot out between Bond and Scaramanga. Stills photographer is listed as Bob Penn (8 May 1925 – 10 April 2002).
